Nicotine Dependence

Also known as: vaping addiction, cigarette addiction, tobacco use disorder

Overview

Nicotine dependence is the biological driver behind cigarette smoking, vaping, and smokeless tobacco use — and it's why most quit attempts fail without medication. Withdrawal peaks in the first 3 days: irritability, anxiety, poor concentration, appetite bump, and intense cravings that come in 3-minute waves. Clindle treats nicotine dependence with the same evidence-based tools as smoking cessation — varenicline (Chantix), bupropion, and combination nicotine replacement (long-acting patch plus short-acting gum, lozenge, or inhaler). Combination NRT roughly doubles quit rates. We also treat vaping/e-cigarette dependence the same way and coordinate free coaching through 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
