Hypothyroidism

Also known as: underactive thyroid

Overview

Hypothyroidism — most commonly autoimmune (Hashimoto's) — slows metabolism, causing fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, constipation, dry skin, hair shedding, and low mood. Diagnosis is a TSH plus free T4. Clindle treats with levothyroxine dosed by weight, rechecks TSH every 6–8 weeks until normalized, and adjusts for absorption issues (calcium, iron, PPIs, food timing). Most patients feel better within 4–6 weeks of reaching the right dose. We do not routinely prescribe T3 or desiccated thyroid without endocrinology input.
