Acne breakouts

Also called: pimples, zits, cystic acne

Acne ranges from blackheads and whiteheads to deep cysts that scar. Treatment depends on type and severity: topical retinoids (adapalene, tretinoin), benzoyl peroxide, and topical antibiotics for mild-to-moderate; oral antibiotics (doxycycline, minocycline) for inflammatory acne; spironolactone for hormonal acne in adult women. Clindle prescribes all of these over video after reviewing photos. Severe nodulocystic acne that needs isotretinoin (Accutane) is referred to a local dermatologist for in-person iPLEDGE management.
