Overview
Celiac is an autoimmune reaction to gluten damaging the small intestine. Non-celiac gluten sensitivity has similar symptoms without the immune damage. Testing must happen before going gluten-free.
Symptoms to watch for

- Weight loss (or unexplained weight gain in some)
- Iron, B12, or vitamin D deficiency
- Fatigue
- Brain fog
- Dermatitis herpetiformis (itchy blistering rash)
How it's diagnosed
Tissue transglutaminase (tTG-IgA) with total IgA, while still eating gluten. Endoscopic biopsy confirms.
