Restless legs

Also called: RLS, creepy crawly legs, leg jerks at night

Restless legs syndrome is the urge to move the legs — usually with an uncomfortable crawling or pulling sensation — that worsens in the evening and at rest and improves with movement. Iron deficiency is the most common reversible cause; ferritin should be checked in everyone and supplemented if under 75 ng/mL. Clindle evaluates RLS, treats reversible drivers, and prescribes evidence-based therapies (gabapentin, pregabalin) when symptoms persist. Dopamine agonists are reserved for severe cases and managed with neurology.
