Overview
The strongest evidence supports: fiber diversity, minimally processed foods, adequate protein, olive oil, fatty fish, moderate alcohol or none. Probiotic supplements have surprisingly weak evidence outside specific indications.
Treatment
Aim for 30+ different plants per week (fiber diversity), 25–35 g fiber/day, fermented foods (yogurt, kefir, kimchi), limit ultra-processed foods and added sugars.
