Back Pain

Overview

Most low back pain is mechanical — strained muscles, ligaments, or joints — and resolves within 4-6 weeks with activity modification, NSAIDs, heat, and targeted physical therapy. Red flags that require imaging or in-person evaluation include leg weakness, numbness in the groin, loss of bladder control, fever, IV drug use, cancer history, or trauma. Clindle evaluates back pain over video, prescribes non-controlled muscle relaxants (cyclobenzaprine, methocarbamol) and NSAIDs, orders X-rays or MRI when indicated, writes a PT referral, and coordinates with orthopedics or pain management when conservative care fails.
